No need to talk about it – everybody not only „loves someboday“ but also has seen or at least heard about „The Blues Brothers“, the John Landis-film of 1980. Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as the brothers Elwood and Jake Blues made this film and themselves immortal.
And as it is with more or less every famous film and/or band at the end „The Blues Brothers“ became a musical. When the theater at Dinkelsbühl (which is in the south of Germany) decided to perform this musical in 2013, textile artist in residence Martina Unterharnscheidt decided to call upon all European artists to create „Blues Brothers“ art. The final show was to be shown at the premiere of the musical in Dinkelsbühl.
Finally Martina was able to show 47 pieces of art made by 27 artists, covering the whole art spectrum. Quilts, felted works, paintings, sculptures, textile art, collages and photo art were among the exhibited artwork.
Here are some pieces of the exhibition:
The exhibiton was on show in many different German cities and was loved by everyone who saw it. As the film this exhibit will be remembered a long time.
