Second Saturday in July! Many of you will know what that means. It’s time to put on really comfortable shoes and walk the streets of Sisters in Oregon for the annual Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show.
Founded by Jean Wells of the Stitching Post in Sisters in 1975 the show has quickly become a very special highlight in the worldwide quilt show calendar. Since its beginning it grew to one of the largest shows with approximately 1300 quilts on display and 10,000 visitors from all over the world.
The show’s mission is “to educate the public about the art, skill, and heritage of traditional and contemporary quilts and fiber arts …” and the organizers are doing a really good job fulfilling it.
