It’s on again! The Dairy Barn in Ohio is the center of the artquilt-world at the moment. Of course I’m speaking about Quilt National, the biennial juried exhibition of innovative art quilts. Quilt National is taking place for the 19th time and the 3 jurors – Rosalie Dace from South Africa, Ann Johnston from the US and Judy Schwender also from the US – did a great job in selecting 84 works which are shown at the Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, Ohio.
The winning quilts were announced at the opening ceremony. Click here for a list of the prize winners and pictures of the quilts.
And here you can find all the artists selected for this year’s show (with links to their websites at the bottom).
Although each Quilt National collection goes on tour (i.e. in the US, in Japan, in Europe) for approximately two years following the close of the exhibition at the Dairy Barn this is the only venue where you can see all the quilts selected by the jury. So if you have the chance to go there don’t miss this opportunity.
