Today I have some great inspiration for you. Sit back and relax and have a look at all the interesting things I’ve got here.
Let’s start with Inger Johanne Rasmussen. She is a textile artist from Norway and creates beautiful what she calls “carpets”.
If you want to hear the stories, ideas and folk tales concerning her quilts have a look at these videos:
To learn more about Inger Johanne Rasmussen and to see many of her beautiful textiles go to her website www.ingerjohanne.no.
Back to the roots with the versatile Ninepatch. Pat Sloan announced her first challenge for 2015 with the theme “Hip to be Square”. 173 quilts were uploaded to her site and they prove that the Ninepatch is not only for traditional quilters. Have a look here http://blog.patsloan.com/2015/02/pat-sloan-hip-to-be-square-challenge-enter-your-quilt.html
After seeing all these beautiful quilts I bet your fingers are already itching to create something yourself. If you like the quilting process than this might be for you. Theinboxjaunt.com is a great website by Lori Kennedy who does some beautiful machine quilting. And best of all – she has many tutorials for machine quilting different motives. Maybe you are a handquilter like me. Don’t let this stop you from visiting Lori’s website. Her quilting motives are really inspiring for handquilters as well (it just takes us longer).
So get inspired by my favorites and then get out your fabric and the sewing machine and start creating. Have a nice weekend!
